The Spice Family are a family of condiment dispensers who live in the kitchen, each named after the type of spice/seasoning they contain. Until Sage and Ginger were born and introduced in Big News with Blue, they were also known as "the Shakers".
Most of them are tabletop shakers, but Sage and Ginger are bottles including cork caps. The Spice Family members are all just spice containers, not the actual spices. They can contain whatever spice they want at any time; they just each choose to have a different one.

- Mr. Salt is the father figure.
- Mrs. Pepper is the mother figure.
- Paprika is Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper's eldest child and daughter.
- Cinnamon is Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper's 2nd eldest child and eldest son.
- Sage is the youngest son and Ginger's twin.
- Ginger is the youngest daughter and Sage's twin.
- Grandma Cayenne is Mrs. Pepper's mother and the kids' maternal grandmother.
- Aunt Nutmeg is Mr. Salt's sister and the paternal aunt of the children. She first appears in "Happy Birthday, Sage & Ginger".
- Grandpa Thyme is Mr. Salt's father and the paternal grandfather of the children. He first appears in "Happy Birthday, Sage & Ginger".
