This episode premiered alongside the Bubble Guppies episode "A Furry Tale!", which was also themed on fairy tales.
Starting from this episode, Magenta appears with her glasses in the theme song.
When Blue and Josh skidoo out of the storybook where the three bears were helped and the third clue (a pig) was found, a different recording for "Blue Skidoo, We Can Too" was used for the music track that is played when it is time for the Thinking Chair (nicknamed "Race to the Thinking Chair" by fans). Back in the Blue's Clues House, the normal brass "Blue Skidoo, We Can Too" for Blue's Clues & You! is heard for the second half.
This is the 2nd episode in the reboot that Magenta wore her glasses.
This is the 1st episode in the reboot where a clue was found right after the Mailtime segment.
Differences
Sidetable Drawer's normal statement of "Blue's Clues, I'm so excited!" is extended, with Josh agreeing with her and Sidetable being tickled when Josh got his notebook out of her,
The bricks had 1 paw print instead of 3 paw prints.
Shovel and Pail acting out as Jack and Jill wasn’t included.
After the first clue was revealed, the Mailtime jingle was heard which that scene went straight to the Mailtime Segment.
Mailtime came immediately after the 1st clue.
Mailbox's story of Jack and Jill remained in this version, only "Jack and Jill went up a hill to fetch an email"
In the original, Magenta had no glasses since that episode took place before "Magenta Gets Glasses". In the remake, she had glasses since this episode took place after "Getting Glasses With Magenta".
The wolf that represents the 2nd clue is more toy like with stitches and button eyes and appeared in the same position as the original version throughout the whole episode until it was story time.
The version of the wolf on the pages of "The Three Little Pigs" also looked different from the toy wolf, while the book and toy version from the original episode were the same character.
The pigs in the story's pages and cover also look different.
The Storybook Forest book also appears next to the wolf in the same area for the same amount of time. In the original episode it was located in the bedroom
Tickety doesn't appear until story time. In the original she appeared earlier after Steve finds 2nd clue to remind him that it's almost story time.
The Storybook Forest and characters are drawn in 2D with outlines unlike its original counterpart.
A different version of the Three Bear is introduced in this episode.
The pigs (including the one that represents the 3rd clue) are more detailed and have visible legs and mouthes (and occasionally turned their heads around), and the one reading to them lowered the book to show his face.
The story of The Three Little Pigs is told as a play (Plays also became on What Story Does Blue Want to Play? and Blue's Play): Josh plays the Big Bad Wolf (with the viewer's help), Magenta plays the 1st little pig, Tickety Tock plays the 2nd little pig, and Blue plays the 3rd little pig.
Steve simply said "The little pig who cried wolf" as the wrong answer in the original episode but Josh said the longer one mentioned above. (See elements for the wrong answer)
