"Sleepy Singalong with Blue" is the seventh episode of the second season and the twenty-seventh episode overall in the reboot series Blue's Clues & You!. It is a new version of "Bedtime Business."


During a slumber party at the yellow house, everyone plays a glow-in-the-dark, nighttime game of Blue's Clues to figure out what Blue's favorite part of bedtime is.

  • In the original, Joe received a letter. In the reboot, Josh received an email from Lola.
  • When Josh skidoo back home the pawprint magically appeared on him.
  • In the original, the question was What is Blue's favorite part of bedtime? The clues were: A Mirror A Sink and A Toothbrush the answer was: Brushing her teeth. In the reboot the question is: What is Blue's favorite part of bedtime? The clues are: A star Josh's guitar and Josh (himself). The answer is Josh sings the song "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" to Blue.
  • The original didn't have a wrong answer but the reboot does. Josh guesses A star that looks like Josh playing his guitar.
  • Joe didn't sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in the original. Josh does in the reboot.


  • This is the final episode to air in 2020.
  • This episode marks the second time a guitar was drawn. The first being Steve’s Guitar from The Baby’s Here.
  • This marks the fifth episode in the franchise where the host of Blue’s Clues was drawn. The others being Magenta Comes Over, Blue Goes to the Doctor, Joe’s Clues, and Playdate with Magenta.
  • This is the Fourth episode where the host of any series receives a nighttime notebook. The first three being Blue’s Big Pajama Party, Bedtime Business and Pajama Party with Blue.
  • As of this episode, Steve is the 1st host who has been a clue only once, which is in the episode Magenta Comes Over.
  • Joe is the only host who has been a clue the most amount of times, which are in the episodes Blue Goes to the Doctor, Joe's Clues, and Joshini The Amazing.
  • This marks the third time Sidetable Drawer’s face doesn’t disappear during the episode. First two times being Blue’s Big Musical, and Blue’s First Holiday
  • This episode is the second night time episode in the reboot, after Pajama Party with Blue, released on the same year. Also in general episodes with the original include Blue's Big Pajama Party (Steve's side) and Bedtime Business (Joe's side).
    • Josh’s night time notebook was used for the entire episode and it had the same design from Pajama Party with Blue.

    • Ironically, both of those episodes took place at night.
  • "Play Blue's Clues" was done partially the way it was in most Seasons 3 to 5 episode of the original Blue's Clues, Josh kneeled next to Sidetable Drawer until the first "Notebook!", but unlike in the original, he asks the viewer if they would help him before starting the song and Sidetable Drawer's eyes and mouth still appearing the same way as Blue's Big Musical.
    • This is the first time Josh did this.
  • Lola sent the email in this episode.
  • This is the second episode to break the usual episode title pattern for Season 2 and use the usual Season 1 episode title pattern instead, the first being "Hide and Seek with Blue".
    • If the usual format was used for this episode, it would be Blue's Sleepy Singalong.
  • A star was a clue also in "Pretend Time", "Blue's Collection", and "Meet Polka Dots!" (multiple stars).
  • This is the second episode in where Josh is a clue, the first being "Playdate with Magenta".
  • This marks the sixth episode in the franchise where a musical instrument was drawn. The others being Blue's Favorite Song, What Does Blue Want to Do on a Rainy Day?, Blue's Big Holiday, The Baby's Here!, and Joe's Clues.
  • This is the second episode in a row in which singing a song is the answer to Blue's Clues, the first one being "Blue's Night Before Christmas" in which the answer was to sing "Jingle Bells".
