Summary[]

Josh is having a no-good, very bad day; no matter what he does, it seems like nothing's going right today; Blue knows how to make it better: play Blue's Clues to figure out how to turn Josh's crummy day around.

  • In Body Language, Joe and Blue played the Feelings Game and were happy and sad at first, Sidetable Drawer felt sleepy, then Joe did a feelings book with Periwinkle where he was scared, proud and jealous, Mailbox was silly, and then Joe and Blue skidooed into a shadow theater where they helped Sal-a-sauce put on a shadow play and the people that were in it had to be excited and shy at first and had they became tired and happy, and Blue wanted to be angry, which was the answer to Blue’s Clues (angry), when Blue left three clues on scrunched-up eyebrows, hands-on-hips and a scrunched-up mouth, and then Periwinkle and Sidetable Drawer arrived and they and Joe sung it and became sleepy, scared and happy. This time, Josh had a bad day throughout the whole episode.
  • The Bad Day Café resembles the Nighthawks painting by Edward Hopper.
  • Josh and Blue are having another rainy day like they and Steve did in Blue Wants to Play a Song Game, What Does Blue Want to Do On a Rainy Day, What’s That Sound, Stormy Weather, and Blue’s Rainy Day Rainbow.
  • Sidetable Drawer is telling Josh how to calm down when feeling frustrated like what happened in Blue Is Frustrated when Steve was frustrated because he was trying to make the picture frame straight but kept getting crooked, cleaned up the Pawprint in the wrong order with a rag and water, and dropped and broke his crayon until he turned the picture frame slowly, cleaned up the Pawprint in the right order, took out his crayon slowly and drew the second and third clue with half of his crayon, Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper were frustrated because they put a cheese sandwich, celery, peanut butter, raisins and plastic wrap in the wrong order and tried to put all the cups at the same time until they put the cheese sandwich in the right order and celery, peanut butter, raisins and plastic wrap in the right order and put the cups together, Mailbox was frustrated because he got stuck until he got himself unstuck, Rabbit was frustrated because her teeter-totter of blocks got unbalanced 3 times until she and Blue made it balanced, and Blue was frustrated because she couldn’t reach her toothbrush when Blue left three clues on a sink, water, and a toothbrush until she used a stool. And together, they all stopped, breathed, and thought.
  • Josh dropped his guitar but didn’t pick it up even in Blue Is Frustrated, Steve dropped his crayon but he picked it up.
  • There is a red book next to a lamp like in Blue's Big Treasure Hunt when after the third treasure hunt hint said, “Find these 2 things and you will see a Land of Great Discovery,”, Steve and Blue had to find a book and a key and they found the red book next to Tickety Tock under the glasses, which was the first clue (glasses) and the book was red and went into the bookcase and showed a door to the Land of Great Discovery.
  • This is the third episode where a clock was a clue. The first two being Tickety's Favorite Nursery Rhyme and Hide and Seek.
  • There is a mud puddle even though in Adventure, Periwinkle imagined a pile of dirt as a pool of mud and Let's Boogie when Choreographer imagined a mat and circle mats as mud and rocks.
  • This is the fifth time where a bird’s nest was seen. The others being Blue's Senses when Steve, Blue and Squirrel pressed a sound note and heard a bird in a nest, What Did Blue See? when a bird’s nest was the answer to Blue’s Clues when Blue left three clues on sticks, a tree and eggs, Periwinkle Misses His Friend when Steve, Blue and Periwinkle used a bird’s, who was in a nest, tweeting to jump, and Patience when Joe and Blue saw Baby Bird in a nest and had a birdhouse for him and a birdhouse was the answer to Blue’s Clues when Blue left three clues on pieces of wood, a roof and a bird.
  • Josh is doing jump rope like Jill did in both Steve Gets the Sniffles and Getting Healthy with Blue.
  • There is a recycle bin like in What Does Blue Want to Make Out of Recycled Things? when Steve and Blue were recycling things like when Steve encountered Recycle Bins where Steve gave Metal a soup can and an aluminum foil, Plastic a juice bottle, and Paper a milk carton, then Steve and Blue helped Tickety Tock recycle but making a maraca when Blue wrapped an old coffee can with paper, put in buttons, and put a lid on, Mailbox had throw something away but learned to “recycle” because what Mailbox had was made of paper, and then Steve and Blue skidooed into Recycle Town and met Al Luminum, who needed help to recycle things like a cup where they put with another cup and string to make a telephone, an old tire to make a tire swing, and soda can holders to make a volleyball net, and Blue wanted to make a guitar, which was the answer to Blue’s Clues (a guitar), when Blue left three clues on a paper towel roll, a tissue box and rubber bands and Magenta's Messages when Joe took out Magenta’s recycling and saw the third clue on the Blue's Clues House.
  • This is the third time a sun was drawn. The first two being Blue Wants to Play a Song Game and Environments.
  • Josh and Blue are seeing Humpty Dumpty but he was in the Picture Frame in both Blue's Story Time and Story Time with Blue and in The Fairy Tale Ball when Humpty Dumpty was the answer to Blue’s Clues on a horse, a wall and an egg and when Joe and Blue saw Humpty Dumpty on the wall, he nearly fell and didn’t break at all but this time, Humpty Dumpty did offscreen.
  • Sour Puss Cat has lemons even though in Math! and 123's with Blue when lemonade was the answer to Blue’s Clues when Blue left three clues on ice cubes, a cup and lemons.
