Firefighter Blue to the Rescue! is the fifth episode of season four and the sixty-fifth episode overall in the reboot series Blue's Clues & You!. It’s a new version of “Playdates”.
Josh and Blue suit up to be firefighter helpers for the day; they play Blue's Clues to figure out how to help the firefighters, train for duty at the fire house, learn about fire safety and ride Firetruck on a special rescue mission.
This is the last episode to have the Nickelodeon zipper logo at the end of the credits. The new logo that debuted at the 2023 Kids Choice Awards will be used in the next episode.
In Playdates, Joe, Blue, Periwinkle and Mailbox had a playdate with The Viewer and had a Wheel of Playdates and they all had to blow on it and at first Periwinkle had a playdate with the Viewer by playing magician by making Boris appear and they said the magic words, “Peri-Presto,” and it worked and he made the second clue appear from a hat, then Mailbox’s playdate with the Viewer was during Mailtime and they bought Joe the letter and sung the Mailtime Song together, then Joe’s playdate with the Viewer to a concert and sung a song called Me and You, and Blue’s playdate with the Viewer was firefighter, which was the answer to Blue’s Clues (a firefighter), when Blue left three clues on water, a hose, and a ladder and Blue played firefighters in Blue's Room and Polka Dots joined in and Roary was playing the part of someone in trouble. This time, Josh and Blue are already being firefighters and helping Fireman Frankie and Firetruck.
Josh and Blue have a map of the Blue’s Clues House like Steve and Blue did in Geography when Steve followed a map to the bedroom and then another map from the bedroom, through the porch, and to outside in the backyard where was with Shovel and Pail, who needed help to find out where to go to mail letters, buy groceries, and get money, in which they go to the post office, grocery store, and bank, then skidooed into a candy board game where Steve did a map challenge to cross a river on a boat, rode on a train through a mountain, and used his own feet to walk to Gingerbread Girl’s house, and Steve and Blue borrowed Shovel and Pail’s map of the neighborhood to go to the library, which was the answer to Blue’s Clues (the library), when Blue left three clues on a building, a shelf, and a book. Only this time, Josh and Blue have a map of the inside of the Blue’s Clues House.
