Summary[]

Steve and Blue have turned their house into a gourmet restaurant called Café Blue. They have got fancy tables and menus, Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper as chefs and they cannot wait to begin serving food, with Steve utilizing his waiter skills. We help them out with this as they find that it is not as easy as they thought when they are missing some of the things they need to serve meal for their friends. So Steve, Blue and Mr. Salt skidoo into a picture of a grocery store in order to retrieve the missing ingredients for spaghetti sauce recipe. By working together and using math, logic, and observational skills, we help them to prepare meals for Shovel, Pail, Tickety and Periwinkle, all while maintaining patience.

Trivia[]

Freddy, Bowl, Cash Register, Blue's Cafe Menu, Sidetable Drawer and Mailbox didn't appear at the end of the episode because is busy.
This is the only time that Mr. Salt skidoos on this episode. He previously made a cameo appearance at the bakery in the season 1 episode "What Does Blue Want to Make?". But he did not skidoo in that episode.
Unlike the previous episodes Periwinkle was presented outside the Blue's Clues house (Including the long episode "Blue's Big Musical"), this is his first time inside.
Slippery Soap is absent.
Paprika is absent, as well.
This episode is available on the 2001 VHS of Café Blue.
- The reboot has an episode theme that focuses solely on a fancy restaurant. It's called "Welcome to Blue's Bistro".
At the beginning of the skidoo segment, Blue was barking offscreen, but she skidooed back home early. Blue gets apple juice and carrot sticks for the customers.
Steve's solution of making the apple juice even by pouring some of one into another is only practical if nobody has started drinking the juice yet. Even in that case, most restaurant patrons would likely balk at this idea.
The kind of ice cream sandwich that Steve was referring to is a cookie ice cream sandwich.
This episode is on the 2001 VHS of the same episode (Along with the series pilot "Snack Time") and the first of the two bonus episodes on the 2004 DVD release of Blue's Room "Snacktime Playdate" (Along with "The Grow Show!").
This is the last episode for several things:
- The Season 3 finale.
- The last time the "Play Blue's Clues" footage from "Pool Party" was used.
- The last appearance of the "Snack Time" idents.
- The last time Periwinkle was voiced by Cameron Bowen.
Valerie Riccardi, one of Steve's Friends in this episode, is mentioned by her first name (Valerie) in the Video Letter segment.
At the end of the outro, the closing credits music fades out, and the last bit plays when the series title fades to black. This was shown before the Nick Jr. Productions logo.
When Steve and Mr. Salt skidooed to the Grocery Store, it used background music from Present Store in "Mailbox's Birthday" and "Math!".
The living room picture frame has the picture of fourth slice of pizza and half slices of apples in "Math".
This is the only episode to use a Handy Dandy Notebook variant that is not connected to the Notebook itself.

In the Pistas Da Blue version, when Duarte skidooed in to the grocery store, the Blue Skidoo, We Can Too music was out of sync, just like in "The Wrong Shirt".
When Periwinkle asks for the same number of carrot sticks that Tickety had, they could have also taken one of her carrot sticks and given it to Periwinkle so they could have both had 5 carrot sticks.
