Trivia[]

  • This is Fifi and Freddy's first speaking appearance in Blue's Clues & You!.
  • This is the first episode of Blue's Clues & You! to not have a wrong answer.
    • This is possibly due to no possible wrong answers.
  • This is also the first episode of Blue's Clues & You where the Mailtime segment takes place before the second clue gets found.
  • This is the second time in the series where Blue doesn't bounce on the screen, the first was Meet Josh!.
  • This is also the first time where Josh doesn't play his guitar in the theme song.
  • This is the first aired episode of "Blue's Clues & You!" where a different colored crayon is used to draw a clue.
  • The So Long Song footage would be used again in Colors Everywhere with Blue.
  • This is the second episode where Magenta joins Blue and Josh during the So Long Song.
  • This is the first time that Purple Kangaroo and Orange Kitten make their appearance in the reboot. We see them again in "Colors Everywhere with Blue" and "Bluestock."
  • Magenta appears in the credits in her animated clue form.
  • Magenta was the troublemaker for this episode, having done all the things that caused people to be sad. However, she is shown to be oblivious.
  • This marks the first time Magenta laughs at Blue. She later does the same in Blue's Big Imagination.
  • An instrumental version of the slow version of the Blue's Clues theme that is used in this episode was reused on a video posted on Twitter in September 8, 2021 that featured Steve Burns himself recalling his time on Blue's Clues and how he never forgotten all of the viewers that loved him, which was created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Blue's Clues.
  • Freddy the felt friend. Is named after Freddie Benson from the Nickelodeon show ICarly.

Differences[]

  • In the original episode, there was green puppy, but in this episode, Green Puppy was replaced with Magenta..
  • In the original episode, Steve used a green crayon to draw Green Puppy, but in the reboot version, Josh used a magenta crayon to draw Magenta.
    • The musical instrument for Magenta as a clue is a steel drum instead of a saxophone.
    • Other characters from the original that are missing are a Green Kitten, a Blue Kitten, and a Pink Kangaroo.
  • Though sad, Blue stated that they play Blue's Clues in this episode, but in the original episode the viewer is the one who suggests that they play Blue's Clues.
  • In the original episode, Steve asked Sidetable Drawer for his notebook without saying "please", making her sad. Here in this episode, Josh immediately said "please" while asking for his notebook, thus Sidetable is still happy. Joe also forgot to say "please" to Sidetable and made her sad in I Did That!.
    • This makes Josh the only Blue's Clues host not to make that mistake.
  • In the original, Blue was able to sing "Play Blue's Clues" normally. In the reboot, she just moped during the song.
  • Freddy and Fifi take the place of Fred and Felicia in this episode but were respectively named after them.
    • "Felicia" also made up with "Fred" earlier than in the original.
    • "Felicia" didn't blow a kiss to Josh.
  • In the original episode, Mailtime came after Steve asks Blue if getting the letter will make her feel a little better. Here in this episode, Mailtime came immediately after the Felt Friends scene.
  • In the original episode, it was Green Kitten who accidentally ruined Orange Kitten's painting, and Green Puppy who took the book from Purple Kangaroo. Here in this episode, it was Magenta who did both.
  • The scene where Little Kitten got hurt from playing Follow the Leader was omitted from the original episode.
  • No one other than Blue, Magenta, and Josh came to see how Blue was feeling about how Magenta keeps knocking down Blue's blocks.
  • In the original, Green Puppy gave Blue a flower, but in the remake, Magenta gave nothing to Blue.
  • In the original episode, Green Puppy knocks down Blue's block tower on purpose, but in this episode, Magenta got over-excited and accidentally knocks it down.
    • Magenta felt sad when Blue said "no" to her. In the original episode, Green Puppy doesn't mind when Blue tells her "no".
      • The ending scene in this episode makes sense (unlike that of the original) considering that Blue wanted Magenta to be happy as well, it doesn't make sense in the original.
  • Magenta joins in the So Long Song with Blue and Josh. This also happened in "Playdate with Magenta." Green Puppy didn't do this in the original.
