Trivia[]

  • Sudsy does not appear at the end of the episode because he is very busy.
  • This is the 2nd episode directed by Steve Burns. He also directed Playdate with Magenta, Welcome to Blue's Bistro, Blue's Night Before Christmas, & Blue's Beach Bonanza.
  • This is the first episode to use a new recording of the music that is cued when it is time for the Thinking Chair.
  • This is the first episode to have a new footage of the Mailtime Song that will be used in most Season 1 episodes.
  • This is the first episode of the reboot where Sidetable Drawer speaks.
  • Mrs. Pepper did not appear until the end of the episode.
  • This is the debut of Sage and Ginger.
  • This is the first episode where Sudsy appeared in the reboot.
  • Josh happy cries and then meows like a cat when he sees the picture of Shovel & Pail. In the play-along app version on Noggin, Josh didn’t happy cry or meow like a cat when he saw the picture of Shovel and Pail.
  • Josh does an impression of Elvis Presley in this episode, just like Steve and Kevin did in "What Story Does Blue Want to Play?"
  • The end credits theme is different, which used a quieter version of The So Long Song.
  • One of the twins Ginger. Is named after Ginger Fox from the Nickelodeon show Icarly.

Differences[]

  • Instead of Saying "I just love Blue's Clues," Sidetable Drawer asks Josh about the big news.
    • The same thing happened later to Mailbox instead of asking a riddle about Steve.
  • In the remake episode, Josh wore a pirate hat for the treasure hunt, but in the original episode, Steve didn’t wear a pirate hat for the treasure hunt.
    • Also the treasure hunt map of a bird and a house was omitted.
  • The picture of Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper on which the paw print for the second clue was was an illustration. In the original episode, it was a photograph.
  • After Josh finds the second clue, it was Mailtime. In the original episode, after Steve plays the riddle game with a sky blue Felt Friend with a green semicircle body, it was Mailtime while the pickle turns into the same treasure hunting map of letters and a box.
  • In the Noggin play-along app version, Josh’s pirate hat had an orange feather that Blue made for him, but in the TV version, Josh’s pirate hat didn’t have a feather at all.
  • After the So Long Song, when you turn up the volume real loud, you can hear Josh shushing at the viewer, then whispering “bye, thank you” very silently.
  • The riddle game with a Felt Friend scene was cut.
    • Freddy and Fifi make actual appearances on the red felt board reading a newspaper in this episode instead of appearing as drawings on the living room picture or on Blue's drawing, while the other Felt Friend didn't appear at all.
      • None of these Felt Friends appear at the end unlike the original.
  • In the original after the video letter was played Steve realized that the back of the envelope has a drawing of Slippery Soap and comes to the bathroom to talk to him, but in the remake, Slippery Soap comes to Josh and talks to him.
  • In the original episode the chalkboard is black with only a yellow chalk stick being used. In this episode the chalk board is dark green and Josh used sticks of chalk in lilac, blue, and orange.
  • Sudsy appeared to Josh and Blue right after Josh erased the chalk wave. In the original episode, Steve and Blue waited a while after erasing the wave to meet him.
    • In the original episode, Sudsy was black with an yellow chalk outline. In this episode it was dark green with an orange outline.
  • Josh knew Sudsy's name even though he never introduced his name to Josh since Steve didn’t know Sudsy.
  • Josh said the message from Slippery Soap to Sudsy without the viewer's help.
  • Only Mr. Salt shook No and stayed where he was and Mrs. Pepper and the bottle moved the way they were.
  • In the original, the We Just Figured Out Blue's Clues song is sung on the way to the kitchen, but in the reboot, it is sung after Josh arrives in the kitchen,
  • Shovel, Pail, Tickety Tock, and Slippery Soap didn’t appear yet until after Steve tickled Paprika.
  • Due to Paprika and Cinnamon already existing, Sage and Ginger were born instead.
  • In the original, Steve sang the So Long Song normally, but in the remake, Josh sang a lullaby version of it.
  • In the original, Steve didn't hold Paprika. In the reboot Josh held Sage and Ginger in his hand.
  • Josh happy cries and then meows like a cat in this version, in the original Steve didn't do that.
  • The original had a letter. The reboot has an email.
