Recap[]
Blue has a special surprise, but it will not be ready till two o'clock and at the start of the episode, it is currently one-forty. He does not think he can wait that long to find out what it is, but Blue helps out by having him play Blue's Clues to pass the time as the first clue, juice, is found. Time is something which Tickety thinks she could use some help on, as her hands seem to be stuck at 1:00. So we help her out by showing her which way to move her hands in order to go forward in time and reach 2:00. Mailtime soon approaches and, after waiting a minute for Mailbox to arrive and deliver their letter, it shows some kids making arts and crafts-made effigies of Tickety with popsicle sticks used for her hands. As the video concludes, one of the kids gives Steve one of the sticks, which is then revealed to be the second clue. Later, Blue and Steve skidoo into Hickory Dickory Dock, where they play a game called the Race Against Time. In it, the objective is to identify a slowly revealed picture within fifteen seconds, all of which relate to the kitchen, where the third clue is. After the clue, an ice cube tray, is found there, the surprise is revealed to be ice pops. Later, everyone enjoys Blue's surprise and we also learn how to do it for ourselves. Steve sings the The So Long Song and the episode ends.

Trivia[]
- Mailbox, Turquoise, Sidetable Drawer, and Grandfather Clock did not appear at the end of the episode because they were very busy.
- Ryan Rodriguez and Editor L. Mark Sorre are both friends of Steve in this episode. Ryan is related to popular friend Chelsea Rodriguez.
- This is the eleventh episode to use the usual "No, it's a clue!" line from Adventures in Art.
- This is the third time "A clue! A clue!" was heard from Blue Wants to Play a Game and Math!
- This is the first episode where the viewers didn't say "There she is!" in the intro.
- Events in this episode definitely do not occur in real-time. The displayed clock starts out at 1:40. Later, it reads 1:45, even though only about three minutes have passed. And throughout, the times never really seem to match up.
- This is the first time that one of the kids (Steve's Friends) at the end of the Video Letter segment gives him something from the letter, which turns out to be a clue.
- This also happens in Bedtime Business.
- This is the first of two times where Steve did not actually ask the question for Blue's Clues: He said, "Well, it's gonna be hard to wait, Blue, but maybe if we had some hints, or some clues..." Blue then placed her signal pawprint.
- This is the older design of Mailbox from The Grow Show, Magenta Comes Over, What Was Blue's Dream About?, What Does Blue Want to Do on a Rainy Day?, The Lost Episode! and Animal Behavior!
- This is also the first episode to use the last animation of Blue putting up her signal pawprint that will later be used in Blue's Sad Day, What Game Does Blue Want to Learn?, and in all episodes since Nurture!
- The next episode to use that is The Baby's Here!
- It takes longer for the mail to come.
- This is the first time that Mailbox delivers the mail late. The second two times will be in Blue's New Place and The Baby's Here!
- Grandfather Clock appeared on the pages of Hickory Dickory Dock, but the skidoo location takes place inside him. Also, the voice of Grandfather Clock was later heard as the Big Booming Voice in Look Carefully...
- The items on the refrigerator are letter magnets that spell TIME (the T and I hold a paper plate clock) on the top door (the freezer area), and number magnets that form another clock (two bigger 1s form the hands) on the bottom door.
- Another show called Special Agent Oso has an episode called License to Chill that was based on this episode.
- This is another episode where "A clue! A clue!" was heard from What Experiment Does Blue Want to Try?, Blue's Birthday, What Game Does Blue Want to Learn?, Occupations, and Art Appreciation.
- This is another episode to use the line "No, A Clue!" from What Was Blue's Dream About?
- This is the 3rd time "A clue! A clue!" was heard from Blue's Story Time and What Does Blue Want to Do with Her Picture?
- After Steve uses his listening skill "What? Is it 2:00, already? Yes!", the kids say "No, a clue!" But in the Duarte version, the kids actually said "No, it's not 2:00! It's a clue!"
- Blue and Tickety are holding their orange juice pops when they appear during the credits, but not Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper, who have their regular animations instead.
- In the closing theme, in the western releases, stock footage of Steve singing "So Long" is used, but in the Kevin and Duarte versions, it actually shows Kevin/Duarte holding a popsicle, and actually eating it as the door closes.
- In the Steve and Duarte versions, the cup is transparent, but in the Kevin version, the cup is opaque.
- Additionally, the carton of orange juice is shown with a cap in the Kevin and Duarte versions, but not in the Steve version.
- In the credits, except for Mr. Salt & Mrs. Pepper, all characters have orange juice pops in either their hands or paws.
- In the US version of The So Long Song, the footage was the same as Steve Gets the Sniffles, Blue's Senses and What Experiment Does Blue Want to Try?
- This is the third episode to use the waiting in time from Blue's Big Musical & Patience.
- Hal Rifken directed the video letter.
- The others were Steve Gets the Sniffles and Math!
- At the end of the letter, the child says, "Here, Steve. This is for you!" instead of "Bye, Steve!". After that part, the instrumental ending of "We Are Looking for Blue's Clues" plays, omitting Blue's bark, which will happen again later in Occupations in which Steve says, "Fascinating story!" and does not say, "Bye!" before closing the letter like in Tickety's Favorite Nursery Rhyme, and What's So Funny?
- In this episode, Steve thinks he drank the first clue (orange juice), but in Thankful, he almost ate the first clue (an apple). This is the first time Steve made a mistake.
- When Mailbox says, "You're gonna looove it!", it sounds like it is said by Wheezie from Dragon Tales.
- In this episode, Tickety Tock says, "It's mailtime, silly!", but in What Does Blue Want to Make? and Tickety's Favorite Nursery Rhyme, Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper say, "The mail's here!" together.
- This episode is referenced in the season 5 episode The Snack Chart, when Paprika and Mrs. Pepper add themselves to the juice pops column made by Pail in the middle of that episode. However, she does not appear in this episode, although she may have had one later on after the episode ended.
- In this episode, when Steve sings, "Take a step at a time!", this could've been funny.
- When Steve sings, "When we use our minds, take a step at a time...", he could've laughed because the episode talks about time.
- This is the last episode in the American Korean version. It is unknown why they didn't do the rest of the episodes.
