Preschoolers play a musical game of Blue's Clues to figure it out, and then play a grand finale with Blue's Big Band! Encore!
Recap[]
Blue has created a big band, and many of them, including Joe and the Viewers will be playing instruments in the band. They practice with Tickety and later listen to some music that Mr. Salt, Mrs. Pepper, Paprika and Cinnamon are creating simply by using an old washboard. They follow along to some of Periwinkle's beats as he plays on the drum. Later, Joe and Blue clap their hands to skidoo and meet Piano, who guides them through a musical story about a group of piglets.

Trivia[]
- Maya Caines is one of Joe's friends in this episode. She is related to Bruce Caines, who directed the episode and its video letter.
- The official members of the band are Blue, Magenta, Tickety, and Periwinkle. They will play their music again at Our Neighborhood Festival.
- In the US, it aired as part of Blue's Biggest Band Monday.
- This episode includes Joe's versions of Blue's Favorite Song, Blue Wants to Play a Song Game, and What Does Blue Want to Do on a Rainy Day?
- Tickety made a maraca from "What Does Blue Want to Make Out of Recycled Things?" and the clues in this episode were used.
- Also, the guitar Blue made in that same episode (along with Steve's red acoustic guitar) was seen next to the toy box.
- The skidoo segment sets the tone of the music for the viewer.
- This is the only time where Joe and Blue wear piglet noses during the skidoo segment.
- This is also the only appearance of Piano.
- The piglet noses are also called piglet costume noses or simply pig noses.
- This is the first appearance where the costume objects of piglet noses are made of hard chalk with string to hold the nose.
- This is Magenta's first appearance in Season 5.
- There is another episode (from Blue's Clues & You!) with a similar name to this episode.
- The Blue's Clues & You episode is not related to this episode, even though it's themed from this episode.
- G-Clef from Blue's Big Musical makes a cameo in the living room picture.
- During the So Long Song:
- Joe and Kevin wear an orange squared shirt in this episode.
- This is Kevin's last appearance aside from the late-aired "Something To Do Blue."
- This is the final episode that aired in the US that had a UK version of an episode. This was also the last time Kevin's colored choice for his shirt was orange, if one doesn't count "Patience," they wore it for two episodes for the entire time of Blue's Clues, with one late-aired episode in season 4. After that, the episodes will only be released in the US.
- When the Viewer says "Hello," it sounds like Goby's voice from Bubble Guppies.
- At the end of the letter, a moment of silence plays instead of the end of the Blue's Clues melody.
- Tickety, Magenta, and Periwinkle reused their instruments from the theme song ("Another Blue's Clues Day").
- In the credits, a variant on Tchaikovsky's "March of the Nutcracker" plays.
- The UK version of this episode is called "Rhythm and Blue," based on the title of the VHS released prior. This title also appears in TV and streaming listings, but the official title pennant at the end of the intro reads "Blue's Big Band."
- In the letter, two girls hear African percussionists.
- In this episode, the instrumental version of the "Song time, la la la" part from Blue's Favorite Song plays.
Goofs[]
- Following Janice Burgess's credit page, the screen goes blank for a few seconds before Blue appears with her ball. This issue was corrected in the UK version.
- Prior to Joe and Kevin drawing the third clue, the music stops playing when they first look at the empty can. However, the music resumes once they look at the empty can again to draw it.
