Trivia[]

  • This episode aired on Nick Jr. as part of the Super Sports Spectacular event.
  • In Blue’s Backyard Ballgame Bonanza, Steve and Blue made the Viewer the coach and they had a Backyard Ballgame Bonanza when Shovel and Pail played the Roll-A-Rama when Pail rolled down a ball down a hill and Shovel had to roll it harder, Sidetable Drawer threw a ball to Steve, who played catch with the invisi-ball with the Viewer, then Steve helped Blue and Periwinkle practice the Bounce Off and did and experiment with a rubber ball, a hard, plastic ball, and a sock ball to find out which ones would bounce the most, and the rubber ball had bounce the most, then they did another experiment with the rubber balls by finding out which place is the best place to bounce it and they had the grass, the blanket, and the pavement and the Viewer suggested the pavement, and when all 3 balls were dropped, Blue’s rubber ball bounce the most on the pavement and Steve and Periwinkle’s rubber balls bounced once and twice on the grass and the blanket, and then they did another experiment on how they should bounce the rubber balls on the pavement either down low, up high, or in the middle and the Viewer suggested up high and when they did, Blue’s rubber ball bounced the most up high on the pavement, and when Steve, Blue, and Periwinkle bounced the ball during the Bounce Off, they dropped the rubber ball on the pavement from up high and it bounced 10 times, then Mailbox arrived and found the invisi-ball in the backyard, and then Steve and Blue skidooed into a stadium with Beach Ball for an obstacle course from a green flag to a green flag and first Steve had to bounce a ball into a box but Steve did it softly and he had to bounce it forward and he did, next Steve had to roll a ball against a wall but he rolled it softly and had to roll it harder and he did, and then Steve had to roll a ball into a hole but he rolled it hard and had roll it softer, and he did, and Blue wanted to do bowling, which was the answer to Blue’s Clues (bowling), when Blue left three clues on a rolling motion, plastic bottles, and fallen down plastic bottles and she needed to know where to aim the ball and aim it in the middle and all the pins were knocked down all together. And in Soccer Practice, Joe and the Viewer were the coaches and were going to the park and Blue, Sidetable Drawer, Magenta, Periwinkle, Orange Kitten, and Purple Kangaroo were going too. And when they got to the park, they all stretched at first, shook it out, and then jumping jacks, and they got 3 clues every time they score a goal. At first, Magenta had the ball and passed the ball to Sidetable Drawer, who passed it to Blue, who missed and tried again and scored. Then Periwinkle rolled the ball but as Purple Kangaroo and Magenta both went to the ball, they bumped into each other but learned that if they are running down the field and if they get close to the ball, they should say, “I got it,” and they know that they are getting the ball so they won’t bump into each other and when Sidetable Drawer passed the ball, Purple Kangaroo and Magenta went to the ball again and this time, Purple Kangaroo called out, “I got it,” and didn’t bump into each other and then Magenta scored, then Mailbox used his head and his whole body accept his hands, which Mailbox doesn’t have anyway, then Blue passed the ball to Purple Kangaroo, who passed it to Orange Kitten but Periwinkle snatched the ball away and ran off, which he should not do, and he had to play together and Magenta had the ball, who passed the ball to Orange Kitten, who passed the ball to Periwinkle, who passed the ball to Orange Kitten, who scored and then Periwinkle and Orange Kitten complimented on each other and after soccer, they all had ice cream, which was the answer to Blue’s Clues (ice cream truck), when Blue left three clues on a truck, a cone, and circles, then in Blue’s Room, Polka Dots and Sprinkles gave Blue a blue soccer ball to Blue and threw it into a bin with a living basketball and football. Then played Doodle Guess with Doodle Board, who drew a picture of a boy named Drew, a soccer ball, and a goal, where Drew kicked the ball in the goal, and then Blue drew a picture of kicking the ball and saying, “goal,” and liked the ice cream as well in Journal. This time, Josh and Blue are playing different types of sports other than bowling and soccer.
  • This is the fourth time where basketball was seen. The first three being What Was Blue’s Dream About when Slippery Soap dreamt about playing basketball, What’s New Blue when Steve made a news article about Pail playing basketball, and a Brand New Game when Joe and Blue mooed like cows, bounced like basketballs, and looked through telescopes with Franny Felt Girl.
  • Bowling and soccer are seen like they were in Blue’s Backyard Ballgame Bonanza when bowling was the answer to Blue’s Clues when Blue left three clues on a rolling motion, plastic bottles, and fallen down plastic bottles and Soccer Practice when Joe, Blue, Sidetable Drawer, Magenta, Purple Kangaroo, Orange Kitten, and Periwinkle played soccer and afterwards, they got ice cream when Blue left three clues on a truck, a cone, and circles.
  • In Blue’s Backyard Ballgame Bonanza, Steve made the Viewer the coach and in Soccer Practice, only Joe was the coach. This time, only Josh is the coach.
  • Josh has a whistle like Joe did in Soccer Practice and Steve in Blue's Backyard Ballgame Bonanza.
  • Josh holding a shell, a bubble wand, and a kazoo instead of a whistle was similar to what happened in What Experiment Does Blue Want to Try, Science with Blue, What Did Blue See, What’s So Funny, Laugh with Blue, and Blue’s Big Baking Show when Steve and Josh had magnifying glasses, a kaleidoscope, potatoes, and a cookie notebook by mistake instead of their notebooks.
  • This is the fourth time where a shell was seen. The first three being Blue’s Birthday, Happy Birthday Blue, and Blue’s Beach Bonanza when a shell was drawn.
  • In Soccer Practice, Magenta played soccer but bumped into Purple Kangaroo, who said, “I go it,”. This time, Magenta is nervous.
  • In Blue’s Backyard Ballgame Bonanza, the Pawprint turned itself into balls and bounced away and in Soccer Practice, Joe blew his whistle and the Pawprint into a soccer ball and rolled away. This time, Josh played catch with the Pawprint, who turned itself into a catcher’s mitt.
  • Sidetable Drawer is playing basketball like Slippery Soap and Pail did in What Was Blue’s Dream About and What’s New Blue and she threw a ball but to Steve in Blue’s Backyard Ballgame Bonanza.
  • Josh is exercising and shaking it out like Steve and Joe did in Anatomy and Soccer Practice.
  • This marks the twelfth time where any sound was drawn. The others being What Is Blue Afraid Of?, Blue's Senses, What's That Sound?, Blue's Big Costume Party, Spooky Costume Party with Blue, Adventure, Joe's First Day, Steve Goes to College, I Did That!, Blue's Big Dance Party, and Blue Makes a Movie with You!.

  • Josh said, “interesting,” like he and Steve did in What Experiment Does Blue Want to Try, Science with Blue, and Blue’s Snowy Day Surprise.
  • Purple Kangaroo is bowling like Blue did in Blue’s Backyard Ballgame Bonanza when bowling was the answer to Blue’s Clues when Blue left three clues on a rolling motion, plastic bottles, and fallen down plastic bottles, although Blue used a regular ball instead of a bowling ball.
  • Purple Kangaroo is rolling the bowling ball harder like Shovel and Steve did in Blue’s Backyard Ballgame Bonanza when Shovel had to kick the ball hard up the hill and Steve had to roll the ball harder to the wall on the second part of the obstacle course.
  • This is the third time where a bubble wand was seen. The first two being Blue’s Birthday and Happy Birthday Blue when Blue got bubbles and a bubble wand for her birthday from Slippery Soap.
  • Orange Kitten is playing basketball like Slippery Soap, Pail, Joe, Blue, and Franny did in What Was Blue’s Dream About, What’s New Blue, and a Brand New Game.
  • Orange Kitten has to aim up high like in Blue’s Backyard Ballgame Bonanza when Steve, Blue, and Periwinkle did a third experiment with a rubber ball and they let the ball drop from down low, up high, and in the middle to see what happens and letting the rubber ball drop from up high makes it bounce more.
  • Magenta missed the goal while playing soccer like Blue did in Soccer Practice and had to aim for the net and try again.
  • Orange Kitten is seeing a clue again like she did in Magenta Gets Glasses when Blue left the third clue on herself and she, Miranda, and Magenta saw the third clue on Blue.

  • In Blue’s Backyard Ballgame Bonanza, Mailbox gave Steve back the invisi-ball and in Soccer Practice, Mailbox arrived and learned to hit the soccer ball with his head and other body parts but not his hands considering that Mailbox didn’t have any hands. This time, he was racing with an email.
  • This is the third episode in the reboot in which the video letter/email was for a character other than Blue or Josh. In It's Your Birthday!, it was for the Viewer, Blue got a birthday card in Happy Birthday Blue, and in A Blue's Clues Festival of Lights, it was for Periwinkle. In this episode, it is for Magenta.
  • Magenta has an email even though Joe and Blue got one in Magenta Messages from Magenta, who got a letter from Blue in What Does Blue Want to Do with her Picture.
  • Josh and Blue are doing an obstacle course like Steve did in Blue’e Backyard Ballgame Bonanza when he ran an obstacle course with Beach Ball by throwing a ball into a box, rolling a ball into a wall, and a rolling a ball into a hole and Josh and Blue running the obstacle course before they run out of time with Tickety Tock like how Steve and Blue did in Blue’s Surprise at 2’oclock when they did a Race Against Time with Grandfather Clock, who made pictures of a refrigerator, a sink, and Mr. Salt, Mrs. Pepper, and Paprika and Steve and Blue had 15 seconds as well.
  • Josh is jumping over the hurdles like in Blue’s ABC’s and ABC’s with Blue when Hey Diddle Diddle was the answer to Blue’s Clues when Blue left three clues on a moon, a cow, and the word, “jump,” and Let’s Write when Joe, Blue, and Palette made the word, “jump,” and sung the Jump Song.
